Restoring Projects

Projects can falter and fail for a range of reasons. Poor project management, sponsor initiated directives, external elements etc... But the option to simply extend a schedule or the budget in particular, is not an option due to the inherent constraints from doing so. The project is required to change the laws of mathematics it would seem, the project manager needs to have the skills of a wizard! This is not so of course, despite the most dire circumstances and the most stringent constraints a project may find itself in, there are various options available to the project manager to steer the project from failure or to retrieve it should it already have crashed.
