Digitising Workflows

Digitising Workflows

Extensive, paper based, disparate activities that collectively are designed to work in a prescribed series to form a workflow... Tend to be labour intensive, prone to delay and difficult to audit.

Organisations tend too, to tolerate them this way because the prospect of making changes to it are fraught with challenges and risks of making things worse. And the greater that prospective change, the greater the reluctance to do it.

And that's entirely understandable, because it's rational. We're busy people...if it's not broken, let's not fix it is the adage often applied.

Organisations which employ operational management platforms, such as ServiceNow for ITSM processes have the base foundation to begin, and ultimately complete, their processes to work on these platforms. Which is the concept of 'digitisation'.

Platforms such as ServiceNow have simplified the prospect of digitising business processes which are then primed for them to be integrated with other processes, data sources and systems.
